Copyright
Although the Museum owns the physical artworks in its collection, the copyright is retained by the artist, artists’ estate, or representative. Although we will assist in providing contact information for the rights holder when known, you are responsible for securing any additional permission as specified by any third party with copyright interests for the work, and for paying any royalties or fees that may be charged by this party.
Image reproduction and/or preparation fees which may be invoiced by the Museum as part of the licensing contract serve only to partially recover operating costs for the service of preparing and providing image files and do not include any copyright clearance fees which may be charged by the rights holder.
Fee Schedule
Images are provided free of charge for personal use (not for reproduction) and scholarly and nonprofit use, subject to any applicable image preparation fees.
